Pros and Cons of ICBC AXA insurance plans
- poor maternity coverage. Newborn kids will have to go through underwriting. Meaning if there are any congenital medical conditions from birth, those most likely will not be covered by the plan
- very cost effective China only cover
- surprisingly, extending area of cover to regional (Asia) or even global (without USA) wil bring extra 30-40% costs. In contrast, most other companies only charge 3-8% more
- high outpatient limits under Comprehensive and Plus plan
- repatriation benefits extend to cover your country of citizenship too, even if you only have China cover
- high yearly price increases since 2018
- SME and other corporate schemes can offer to cover most of the none-catastrophic pre-existing conditions
